been summoned to London, where he
is to report to Admiral Sims for duty
with the U. S. destroyer fleet.
While at Michigan, Ensign Nichols,
who is a member of Theta Xi frater-
nity, was in charge of the University
wireless station. His work in that
capacity enabled him to secure a com-
mission in the .navy when war broke
out. Since receiving his commission
he has been in charge of the radio
school at the Great Lakes training sta-
tion.
