Elizabeth L. Watkins was ap-
pointed assistant professor of so-
cial service in the public health
school for Sept. 1, 1958 to June
30, 1959. Her appointment is be-
ing paid for through a grant to
the public health school by the
United States Children's Bureau
given through the Michigan De-
partment of Health.
The grant is given to develop
facilities at the public health
school for specialized training of
physicians, nurses, nutritionists,
material and child health social
workers and health administrators
who will be able to serve in this
field.
The Regents also approved ap-
Hospital Staff
Win Awards
Five University Hospital mem-
bers won awards in a state-wide
contest for new hospital achieve-
ments sponsored by the Michigan
Hospital Society and the Michigan
Hospital Association.
Award winners were: Kathryn J.
Sheetz, Hazel Bielby,- Joseph Mc-;
Fadden, Catherin Underhill and;
Guyla M. Galbraith.

Mrs. John Laird and Mrs. Harry
Hallock were given three-year
terms on the Board of Governors
of Mary Barton Henderson House.
Their terms expire June 30, 1961.
Mrs. Warner G. Rice was named
to succeed herself for a three year
term on the Adelia Cheever House
Board of Patronesses. Her term
ends June 30, 1961.
The three-year appointments
were made to Mrs. Tom D. Rowe
and to Mrs. James A. Lewis to the
Betsy Barbour House Board of
Patronesses.
Residence Boards
Mrs. John Bingley and 'Mrs.
Frank Huntley were named to
three-year terms on the Helen
Newberry Residence Board of Pa-
tronesses.
A three-year term on the Mar-
tha Cook Building Board of Gov-
ernors was given to Mrs. Delos
P. Healt.
Prof. E. Blythe Stason, law
school dean, and Harry G. Gault
were appointed to succeed them-
selves for two-year terms to the
Lawyers Club Board of Governors.
Faculty Members Appointed
The regents also appointed 45
faculty members to committees
June 13.
Prof. C. Theodore Larson of the
architecture school and Prof. Rus-
sell A. Dodge, chairman of the en-
gineering mechanics department
