The elevation of Zeller and Briggs were the latest changes in the Tiger management, designed to lift the team
from its 1938 doldrums.

The tin cans and burlap packages shown here contain what the
treasury department in New York termed the largest single ship-
ment of illicit opium seized in more than a decade. The opium, seized
at a Brooklyn pier, was worth $600,000, officials said.

Miss Judy Dunford, of Port Huron, has been chosen "Miss Blue
Water" and will preside as queen over festivities incident to the dedi-
cation, of the new Blue Water Bridge over the St. Clair River between
Port Huron and Sarnia, Ont. The date for the dedication has not been
seta pending official word from the White House on a date suitable
to President Roosevelt who is expected to deliver the dedication address
