REPORTS ENCOURGING
OUTLOOK FOR TAX CUT
1Swampscott, Mass., July 21. -
Plunging into his first real considera-
tion of the administration's legisla-
tive program President Coolidge to-
day received an encouraging report
from Senator Curtis of Kansas, the
Republican leader, on the prospects
for a heavy tax cut.
A redemption of at least three hun-
dred million is in prospect on the
basis of treasury reports he has Just
gone over, Senator Curtis told the
executive. He emphasized however,
that 'since the program for the or-
ganization of thergovernment depart
ments be enacted a cut of half a bil-
lion dollars seems possible. He pre-
sented no specific plan for tax reduc-
tion.
Leningrad, July 21. - Private and
personal property of the late Czar
Nicholas II, valued-at several million
rubles, will be offered for public sale
this week by the special Soviet com-
mittee in charge of the state muse-
ums.,
