WELFARE SOCIETY CARES
FOR HOSPITAL. CHILDREN
Interestingand important work has
been done recently by the Children's
Welfare society in connection with,
the University Hospital.
The financial support has been di-
vided between the state and the Ann.
,Arbor community fund. With. this
help the society-has treated. and cared
for more than 75 infants. a month
which have been taken from the ma-
ternity hospital and other places.
Homes are found for as many of
the children as possible for the boys
and girls seem to do so much better
when taken into a family. Some of
the children with disabilities are put
in private homes but are ht'ought back
for treatment from time to time. This
eliminates the institutional life and at
the same time allows the children
medical treatment,
More moving pictures from the Un
ited States than from any other out-
side country were shown in Italy
last year. French and German films
having lead previously.
London will have 1,000,000 tele-
phonyes within 15 years, says the con-
trliler of the service.
