NOW IN STOCK

Picture yourself stranded 350
miles from home, with a broken-
down car and an equally "broken-
down" wallet.
Sound hopeless? Not so, claim
five University students who <un-
derwent just such.an experience'
during spring vacation.
Barbara Baril, Charlotte Davis,
John Klein and Allan Schreiber,
'60; and' Nancy Vermillen, '59,'
were en route to Ann Arbor Sun-
day after a week of play-going in
New York City where the young
men had minor roles in a Metro-
politan Opera 'production.
"Church mice had nothing on us
as far as being poor," Barbara
chuckled. "We'd spent all our
money in New York except for the
$60 we'd set aside for the car. Then
that was stolen!"
The group was as far as the
Pennsylvania Turnpike whenstheir
car broke down. "The police came
to our rescue," Charlotte recalled.
"We were brought to Beaver Falls
and housed at Geneva College
until repairs were made."
During their day in Beaver Falls
the stranded students were given
the key to the city. The Geneva
College business manager conduct-
ed them on a tour, which included
a radio program appearance, news-
paper interview and luncheon at
the civic club. "Charlotte, Barbara
and I were the first females ever
allowed inside the club!" Nancy
said.
The five finally arrived back at
school Monday night, tired and a
day late for class, but all in agree-
ment that "it's pretty wonderful'
to find that such hospitality still
exists." .

If there is any student on cam-
pus who is still unaware of what
will take place on April 25 and 26,
he cannot avoid being enlightened
soon.
As part of the Michigras pub-
licity campaign, telegrams from
Gras-pin advising students that)
Michigras is the place to be on
April 25 and 26 will be placed in
all the dormitory. mailboxes.
To get students in tfie spirit of
the Michigras parade Friday af-
ternoon, there will be a bicycle
parade at 12:45 p.m. Thursday,
beginning on the Diag. All stuldents
and their bicycles are invited to
join the parade.
Local merchants are also par-
ticipating in the Michigras pub-
licity campaign. On each piece of
merchandise in many of the cloth-
ing stores will be a sign saying,
"Wear it to Michigras."
Among those attending Michi-
gras will be a gorilla (a live boy in
gorilla attire) led by a little girl.
This pair can be seen tonight at
the Michigan theatre and tomor-
row on the Diag. They will be

sporting a sign saying "We're go-
ing to Michigra."
The bi-annual event will re-
ceive both local and national news
coverage. Radio station WHRB
will feature interviews of lentral
committee members; and a film of
the Michigras parade will appear
on' a Detroit television station on
Friday night.
Michigras hats will continue on
sale during the coming week. In
addition, the song, "Come to the
Michigras," recorded by the Friars,
will be heard on the campus radio
stations and on local juke boxes.
