Step 3: Next come interviews before an experienced board which
will judge your plans, abilities and enthusiasm. Interviews are
informal and range for eight to fifteen minutes, covering all of
the positions for which the coeds have petitioned.
Petitioning Process .. .
The petitioning and interview-
ing process used to fill women's
positions of leadership on campus
is very simple.
First, one must obtain a peti-
tion at the League undergraduate
office. If the student is in doubt
as how to write the petition, she
may go to the League Library
where old petitions are placed and
see what the job entails and what
night be included in a petition.
The thought of writing a peti-
tion may seem frightening to a
} student who has never written one
before. A petition does not have
to be a literary masterpiece. The
interviewing committee, is inter-
ested in the student's enthusiasm,
ability and especially his ideas.
Information which should be
included in a petition is past ex-
perience which might pertain to
the job, and the duties of the job
as the candidate understands
them.
The way the student would or-
ganize a committee and would
carry out her plans should also
be included. Criticism *of the job
as it has been run and ideas for
improvement are also important
to the Interviewing and Nomin-
ating Committee.
After writing the petition the
candidate should bring it to the
League undergraduate office and
place It. in its properly marked
box. Then she should sign up for
an interview on the sheet that
will be posted on the bulletin
board in the office.
It is advisable to ,keep a copy
of the petition and review it be-
fore going to the interview so that
the interview will be prepared and
relaxed.
League Petitioning ...

sitions has begun and will con-
tinue throughout the month for
coeds in all classes.

ating Committee interviews peti-
tioners for all positions in the

men and members.
Due to the increased number of
coeds petitioning for League po-
