Drama Festival To End June 11

"

Winding up a season of famous
actors and outstanding plays, the
Ann Arbor Drama Season will pre-
sent "As You Desire Me" May 31
through June 4 and "The Heiress,"
June 7 to June 11 in Lydia Men-
delssohn Theatre.
Marta Abba, internationally fa-
mous Italian actress was coaxed
out of retirement to play the lead
in Luigi Pirandello's psychological
masterpiece.
"THE HEIRESS," taken from
Henry James' bitter study of in-
heritance and frustration, "Wash-
ington Square," will star Basil
Rathbone and Martha Scott.
Delta Gamma Sorority will
play hostess to Miss Scott, Uni-
versity graduate and former
DG during her stay in Ann
Arbor.
Best known for her interpreta-
tions of Pirandello's plays, Miss
Abba has played in London, Paris,
Berlin, Budapest, Vienna, Prague
and South America. "As You De-
sire Me" is dedicated to her.
THE ITALIAN ACTRESS won
recognition in this country for her
performance of the Grand Duch-
ess in "Tovarich."
Brandon Peters, who played
the role of the husband in the
Judith Anderson production 17
years ago, will play the same
role opposite Miss Abba. Also
starring in "As You Desire Me"
are Kurt Kasner and Leo Chal-
zel.
