kiss in a New York subway, he chose a dark-eyed charmer in a heavy
veil. She turned out to be Frances Murphey (above), bearded sideshow
artiste who didn't want to be kissed. His shock and Miss Murphy's left
hook helped chasten Durkin by the time a cop came.
