"It is very surprising and very
gratifying to witness the interest
which is being shown in the Third,
Annual Exhibition of Sculpture,"

u

says Avard T. Fairbanks, Professor
of Sculpture under whose direction
the pieces of sculpture have been
done. "More than 3,000 have at-
tended the exhibition during the
first week," said Fairbanks, "as
contrasted with the 3,000 who came
to see the last exhibit during its
entire showing."
Faculty members and students
account for the greater share of
the attendance, according to Pro-
fessor Fairbanks, although many
people from Detroit and neighbor-
ing cities in addition to a large
number of people in Ann Arbor for
the May Festival have also been up
to the studios on the second and
fourth floors of University hall.
"In view of the unfavorable loca-
tion of our exhibit, and the four
flights of stairs necessary to climb,"
said Prof. Fairbanks, "this large
attendance is quite remarkable.
