lINE MEN TO LEAVE
'OR MINNEAPOLIS
'eeling of Confidence Prevails
Throughout Last Practice
Session.
Head coach "Cappy" Cappon
rove his varsity cagers through
short and snappy drill last eve-
ing in Yost field house after which
te expressed confidence that they,
rould once again be able to sub-
ue the powerful Gopners in their
rucial clash scheduled for Satur-
ay night at Minneapolis.
Nine men will be included in the
umber that will entrain for the
ropher stronghold this afternoon.
To changes axe expected to be
nade in the starting lineup. How-
ver, if Garner is unable to get the'
ip-off he may make way for Petrie,
iith Captain Daniels returning to
tis old center position.
However, there is, little likelihood
f this occuring, since in the last
lash, the new pivot man consist-
ntly out jumped Bethel, the Go-
>her centr. Garner is improving
apidly and besides proving a cap-
able offensive threat, has added
onsiderably to the d e f e n s i v e
trength of"the Wolverines.
Shaw, Tessmer and Ricketts have
11 come in for considerable atten-
,ion on the part of the coaches this
week since there seems' to be a
airly good chance that theybwill
ae called into action. In the last
neeting, numerous personal fouls
vere recorded for both teams and
n case any of his regulars are' fore-
d to withdraw via this route, Cap-
on expects to have capable sub-
titutes to fillin the gap.

Little Considering
Iowa Coachig Job
IOWA CITY, Ia., Jan. 21.- (IP)
--Football fanis discussed with
interest today the visit which
George Little former Wisconsin
athletic director and head foot-
ball coach, will make on the
Iowa.cUniversity campus Friday
as a prospect for the head foot-
ball coaching position.
The announcement Wednesday
that Little has been invited by
the athletic board to come for
an interview regarding Burton
A. Ingwersen's former job was a,
surprise, since the former Wis-
consin mentor had not been
mentioned previously as a can-
didate.

ICE TEAM TO PLAY
GOPH.ERSTONIGHT
Second Contest of Series Finds
Wolves More Experienced
in Gopher Attack.
Michigan meets Minnesota to-
night in the second match in the
new St. Paul Municipal auditorium.
The Gophers constant rushing is
not, expected to be as formidable
tonight as the Wolverine sopho-
more defensepen, Chapman and
MacCollum were given 60 minutes
of experience last night iii this type
of hockey.
Judging from the attendance, last
night, probably 10,000 fans will be
seated for tonight's match. The
a rge 2 uditorium can seat that
zany and the unusual game last
ight is expected to fill the rink.
The large ice bothered Michigan
but little and tonight it should not
bother them at all. The going will
be difficult again, though, as Mich-
igan will tire out easier on the large
rink and Minnesota has a host of
fresh reserves to send in at any
time.
Michigan's great passing attack
of Reid and Crossman will have to
overcome a stubbork Gopher de-
fense if they are to win as the two
defensemen, LaBatte and Suomi
are capable performers. All three
Gopher goalies are inferior to
Tompkins, which may determine
the contest.

the Yacht Club entry list will be
two former Michigan natators, Dick

are certain to cause some trouble
for the local entries. Hubbell will

Bob Howlett, former breaststroke
champion at Northwestern, will be
in the swim against 'Captain Mil-

Landrum at 118.
The Varsity will be represented
by several regulars and the" remain-
der of the team will be made up
of those men who will probably see
considerable action later on in the
year. Keen will use Landrum in the
118-pound class. Landrum is one
of the gamest wrestlers on' the
squad and will probably be used in
this division as a regular after the
start of the second semester to re-
place Texiera. Coach James Kelly
of the yearlings will pit either,
