Freshman Enrollment In

t. O. T. C.

Shows 25% Increase, Indicating
Growing Popularity
AUTHORIZE NEW UNIFORM
There has been a twenty-five
percentincrease in the freshman,
enrollment of the University R. O.
T.C. unit over last year's figures,
according to Major Reinold Mel-
berg, P.M.S. & T., and commandant
of the post here. This marked ad-
vance is interpreted as indicating
the growing popularity of our mili-
tary unit, and speaks well for the
persevering efforts of both the
officers stationed here and the
members of the Scabbard and
Blade society; which is the campus
military organization.
The familiar R.O.T.C. cap, high
collar uniform coat, and breeches
with wrap putees will be missing
this year on the campus. Major
Melberg states that the entire corps
will appear in a new uniform
which will be superior in comfort
and appearance to the uniform
that has been used at Michigan
since 1920.
