INCREASE II ILNES
3524 patients were taken care of at
the Health service during the month
of April, according to the monthly
report issued by Dr. Warren E. For-
sythe, director. This number maiks,
an increase of 583 over the record for
April of last year, and is probably the
to the recent epidemic of influenza of
which there are still a number of
cases.
An indication of the need for the
Health service during Spring vacation
is given by the fact that 112 dispen-
sary visits, 15 room calls, 30 patients
at the infirmary, and 14 at the hos-
pital were attended to during this
period.
The flu epidemic which was rath-
.er bad during the last few days of
April, did not result. in any cases f
pneum:onia or death, but there were
a number of cases with alarmingly
high temperatures. The epidemic has
been checked considerably since then
although there are still a few cases.
There was a general and marked
increase this year over records for
calls during.last year. Room calls
numbered 204 and showed an increase
of 106 over 1927. Acute respiratory
infections also showed a -high in-
crease, there being 570 cases with an
increase of 173.

Albert Hyma, professor of European ence book, "The Theological Develop-
history, announced yesterday the ment of Martin Luther," has been re-s

completion of his newest book, a text
on "Modern European istory ffom
1500 to 1815." Professor Hyma has
been working on this book for some
time, and he expressed considerable
relief from the laborious task of ga-
thering and compiling material. He
further stated that his new refer-

cently published and is already en.
joying an encouraging sale. This book
required a great deal of research
work, and Professor Hyma will take
a vacation from book writing, for a
time at least. The new text will be
published sometime next fall,-pro-
bably in September.
