Dean Charles R. Bardeen, of the
medical school at the University of
Wisconsin, wvho will speak here Thurs-
day, April 1, has chosen "Standards
of Physj al Build" as the subject of
his address, it wias, announced yes-
terday. The lectture will be .the thirdl
on the course being held under the
auspices of Alpha Omega Alpha, na-
tional honorary medical society.
The (lean obtained his medical de-
gree from Johns Hopkins university
in 1897 after receiving his A. B. from
Harvard four years previously. Im-
mediately 'after his graduation he be-
came an assistant in the anatomy de-
partnment at Johns H-opkins. I-e was
made an associate professor in 1901.
In ,1904 he became a full professor
of anatomy at the. University of Wis-
consin and three years later was made
dlean of the mneical school, a posi-
tion he has since held.
Dean Bardeen is' a.memuber of the
American 'Society of Naturalists, the
Society of American Anatomists, the
Society of American Zoologists, and
the American Association for the Ad-
*ancenient' of Science. H~e has made
a number of contributions to scientific
journalis embracing'such-i:topics as h'u-
xnan an~d comjparative mammalian em-
bryology,, experimental" morphology,
and physical anthropology.
