Tryouts for the Junior Girls' play
to be given March 19, 20, 21, and 22 at
the Whitney theater were begun yes-
terday and will continue from 2 to 4
o'clock today, and from 3 to 5 o'clack
Friday in Sarah Caswell Angell hall.
Prof. John R. Brumm and the play
committee are conducting the tryouts.
The play tax of $1 is required from
every junior woman before she tries
out for the play. Those who have not
paid may do so on the afternoon they
try out. Ever woman must also have
54 hours credit at the beginning of
next semester.
Tryouts for leadd in/the pla# are ask-
ed to speak, sing, and dance, while the
chorus parts require only singing and
dancing. It is important that every
tryout know what song she wishes to

Inter-house basketball practice will
begin after a meeting to be held at
4:30 o'clock today in Barbour gym-
nasium. All managers of houses and
members of the teams are expected to
attenid ,this meeting for general in-'
structio'is regarding the tournament,
and h; discussion of the most recent
additions and changes in the rules of
the game which will be observed in the
contests.
Class basketball games will begin, in
all probability, before the Christmas
holidays, and it is therefore essential
for everyone interested in making a
team to trn out at ever practice.1
These will be held for seniors and
sophomores at 4:15 o'clock, and fort
juniors and freshmen at 5 o'clock on
Mondays and Wedneidays. All girls
are requested to try out for the teams,
even if they have no previous knowl-
edge of or experience in plaing the
ganie.
The University Girls' Glee club will
meet at 4:30 o'clock today in the par- I
lors of Barbour gymnasium.
There will be,no gymnasium classes
held tomorrow because of the neces-
sity for using the gymnasium for the
Women's League bazaar.
Matinee Musicale Student league has
postponed the program and meeting
scheduled for tomororw. The next
meeting of the combined groups of the
organization will be held in January,
Miss Katherine Aller, of the per-
sonnel division of the National Y. W.
C. A., will be in Ann Arbors today and
tomorrow, to meet women interested
in obtaining secretaryships in the Y.
W. C. A. She will be glad to meet
any women interested, especially up-
perclassmen and graduates.
Because of the work being done on
the Women's League bazaar by mem-
bers of Mummers, their meeting, prev-
iously announced for tonight, will be
postponed until some time after vaca-
tion.
The Michigan Dames will meet at 8
o'clock tonight in the Faculty Wo-
men's club house. The speaker will
be Miss Yi T Wu. She will discuss
"Life and Customs of a Chinese Girl."
