Of the nine candidates, three women
have been chosen from each of the
three upper classes. The nominees
are as follows: from the senior class,
Claribel Bowen, Frances Bredin, and
Alene Davis; from the junior class,
Jane Gibson, Elura Harvey4, and Rosa-
lea Spauldiig; and from the soph'
more class, Ruth Rankin, Elma Walz,
and Mary Tyler Louthan.
Three delegates have already been
chosen. Mrs. G. Carl Huber, as dele-
gate of the advisory committee, Dorothy
Jeffrey the president of the Y. W. C.
A., and one nurse from the nurses
school, who together with women el-
ected from each class Will make up
the delegation of six from Michigan.
ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT
The engagement of Miss Lurene Os-
born, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
Osborn, of Kalamazoo, to Robert
Tubbs, '24L, was announced Satur-
day. Tubbs is a member of the Delta
Sigma Phi fraternity.
Conservatives Join Laborites
London, Feb. 23.-At the end of de-
bate on the proposal of the govern-
ment to proceed to lay down five cruis-
ers cind two destroyers, the Conserva-
tives joined tle Laborites in the poll,
opposing the Liberals, some of whom
cried: "The new Coalition!"
JIapan Will Return Rumanian Visit
Tokio, Feb. 23.-It has been decided
to return the visit of Prince Carol, of
Rumania, and Prince Higashi Kuni,
now. in Parise, has been selected to
visit Rumania in April. Carol.was a
state guest of Japan in 1920.
