Announcement was made yesterday
.from the office of President Marion
L. Burton, of the suspension for one
year of thirteen students who have
been implicated in big ga'mbling
games this' year. Two of that numbier
have already left the University.
In the case of the eleven wvho re-
main, the University Comnmittue on
Discipline which pronounced the sen-
tence has agreed to grant a stay of
execution on the grounds that those
implicated will promise to do no more,
gambling during the year and that,
they will :report once a month or of-
tener, to the member of the commit.j
tee from their school or college. f
The two who are not. now in school,
will not be allowed to re-enter the,
University, according to ;the ruling of
the committee, wvithout its consent and
then only und]er the conditions.. that
it specifies.
The cases of gambling which have
already come up for -discipline to the
committ~ee have been -flagrant ones
tha.t involved large sums of money
and& the issuing of checks which wvere
unredeemable.

The applications which are to be
given out on Tuesday and Wednesl

that the applications have beeni grant-
edl, or with. notices that they have
not been granted and ,the reasons -why'
they were not granted. The ticket
committee hopes to return these ap-
plications, rejected or granted, to the
applicants by Dec. 12 or 13, and also
hopes to>-be able to seal the tickets
for the Hop Jan. 4 and 5.

bating team will meet the Ohio wo-
'men's negative team in a joint deC-
bate to be held at 8 o'clock tomor-
row night in University Hall.
Members of Michigan's negative
team will leave fore Columbus .this af-
ternoon to debate with the.Ohio affirm-
ative squad. They will be accompan-
ied by Prof. Louis M. lrich,. of the pub-
I ic ,speakng department, and Mrs. Eich
Members of the Michigan afflrrna-

ler, '25. The negative team consists
