Michigar's players were able to
sbake off tacklers time after time in
the two big games. Much of the abil-
ity shown in ,these.=feats was acquired
during the stormy practice sessions
that: were; held with the' nights pre-
ceeding the. contests. Lawson and,
Savage, the: diminutive quarterback,
brought their men to earth with aE
vengeance at every attempt that the
Varsity, made to run their side of the
line.
Foster and many others of the Re-I
serves threw forward passes with
much regularity during the scrim-
mages n and the spectator at the 0. S.
U. tilt was forcibly impressed ,with, the
way the Var'sity grounded Workman's
tries.I

Several former Varsity men and
stars from other colleges are playing=
with the Reserves and freshmen.
Coaches Mather and Fisher with the
aid of their icompetent staff have built'
uip two teams with these men that4s
have .given the Varsity a fight every
minute in which they, clashed. Mich-
igan depends upon the strength of the
Reserves and freshmen to instill the
best into the Varsity. These teams
have carried out their duty faithfully
at every instance.
Monday and last night scrimmages
were held and there was no sign of a,
letup in their fighting spirit. The
teams have lost a number of men as
the season has advanced, but they
seem to be only those that are wear.
in heart or are certain that they are
not capable of doing their University
a great service by playing on the scrubt
teams. I,

"No definite word can be given as
to when the Alumni catalog will -be
out, but at the present time it is ex-
pected the first part of the copy will
be placed in the hands of the printer
by Dec. 1," is the statement made by
Mr. H. L. Sensemann, director of the
alumni catalog office.{
W .hen the work on this catalog was
first started it was estimated that it'
would be completed by this time, but
various things have hindered ther
Iwork and the task has proven off
much greater magnitude than was ex-
pected.. One of 'the obstacles was the
failure of a number of alumni to an-
swver the first circular that was sent
to them'. This necessitated the send-
ing of a second folder and letter and
more than 25,000 of these second re-
quests have been mailed, which is.
nearly three .times the number ex-
pected.
When published the Alumni catalog C
will have the same page size as the
one published in 1912 but the pages
will be more fully utilized. The mar-
gin will be cut down materially and{
