Are college mnen superstitious?j
k'Does a man flunk ,a blue-book because
he hears a pin fall lightly to the floor?
rJudging from, the opinions received
from mren. on the campus the question
Eremiains unsolved. Some say that!
minor rudiments of the supposed long
rfdead superstition still linger in the
F minds of jcollege students. (}there~
emphatically agree. that the college
..man has no time for such foolish
'notions.
John P. Lawton, '24, in expressing
his views on the, subject, said, "Super-
stition is a fungus that grows on il
unthinking brain. I have' quite a few
~horseshoes in. my room."1'
Archie Hahn, varsity trainer, claims
that 'as a rule college athletes are
not superstitious. "1 have run against
and trainedr hundreds of athletes and;
find very few who are really super-,
stitious. Football men are more fool-
ish than tracksters in that respect=
I' have known*nmany football playersI
