John P. Lawton, '24, in expressing
his views on the, subject, said, "Super-
stition is a fungus that grows on il
unthinking brain. I have' quite a few
~horseshoes in. my room."1'
Archie Hahn, varsity trainer, claims
that 'as a rule college athletes are
not superstitious. "1 have run against
and trainedr hundreds of athletes and;
find very few who are really super-,
stitious. Football men are more fool-
ish than tracksters in that respect=
