"BOOK PRIESJUSTIFIED"
SAYS INTERESTED PARTY IN DIS-
CUSSION ON EXISTING'RATES
Editor, Michigan Daily:
An article appeared in yesterday's
Daily concerning the price of books
in. the Ann Arbor bookstores, particu-
larly on the book, Ziwet and Hopkins
"Analytic Geometry." The author of
the article claims that the book sold
for $1.75 at Buffalo, whereas it was
sold here for $2.25. #
Perhaps if he has time, he might
drop in at one of the bookstores an'd
ask to see their invoice on the book,
which would undoubtedly say $2.25
less 1-5 or $1.80 upon which cost, the
cost of transportation ymust be added.
This book several years ago, so'd
for $1.75, but is now listed at $2.25.
Perhaps they, had a quantity of these
books on hand at Buffalo and because
so few were sold, had' not reordered
for some time, consequently not-know-
ing the new price.j
Ibelieve that the prices of all books
are listed in catalogues and if some
unbeliever were to ask the prices of
various books in the stores he would"

The Big, Eent of the College Year
What a flutter and excitement the occasion brings with it. What a joyousr
in selecting the habiliments with which to adorn one s self to obtain the .1
effect. The J-Hop is the occasion of occ asions and deserves your attentior
every detail. We are well prepared to care for your needs from the robe to
smallest accessory.
Dance Frocks
New features to be blrought out are the plain basque waists with full
scalloped skirts, corded effects and soft overdrapes, a few with silver
cloth drop skirts, high or low neck lines and with tiny ruffles to make
you think you have a sleeve while other models are designed with just
the narrow shoulder straps, many of these dainty evening gowns have
the silver cloth under bodice with the beautiful fabric draped over the
silver.
Georgette crepe is used to an excellent advantage in the designing of
this little model In three different shades of bronze. Several tiers of.
georgette form the pointed draperies that are edged with tiny silver
cord, silver ribbon with long streamers to make the sash complete this
frock.
For the dark-eyed girl with black hair there is a charming gown in a;
deep Poinsetta red shade, the skirt is of heavy satin with over drapes
of georgette, silver cloth forms the bodice, straps of georgette meet on,
the shoulder and wide varied colored silver ribbon is used for the sash.
And then for the blue-eyed, golden-haired debutante nothing more
charming has ever been shown than this wonderful model of golden
rose taffeta. The plain basque waist has a beautiful allover silver
lace yoke and the same lace is used in a tiny drop skirt that just shows
below the full scalloped skirt on which heavy silver floral designs are
embroidered. Silver ribbon in the pastel shades is used for the sash.
One piquant little frock comes in peach taffeta with a very full skirt
that is circled around and around with tiny ruffles that are picoted in
silver cord, these same tiny .ruffles form a miniature sleeve effect that
is charming.
In Jade taffeta comes an exceptionally plain model that will suit the
young lady who prefers the more conservative styles. A basque waist,
perfectly pla.n with a full scalloped skirt and trimmed with two large
feather flowers, one on the basque and the other on the skirt makes
an exquisite gown.
A beautiful coral Panne velvet model looks very stately and elegant
with its plain basque waist and soft draperies that are caught up on
one side with a large silver buckle, just the model for the tall woman
to wear with grace.

Almost all of us have a hint of the.
savage in our make-up, judging by
/the way we adore these gay strings
of beads. They're barbaric in_ their
beauty and for the one-toned frock
they are indespensible and trans-
form the whole appearance. A
beautiful 'showing of the many
bright and different colored beads
are very attractive to say the least.

Corsets that assume
correct liges
Lines-we encounter the word everywhere in the lanl of fashion and
wisely so. Milady knows that it is not so much the importance of her
costume as it is their "lines" which create her general appearance.
We have a staff of corsetiere at your service that will select the right
corset or corsetlette and fit you properly.
