PROF. DAVID FRIDAY, WHO BE
comes President of Michigan Agr
cultural College next January 1.
first, rank among the state univeri
ties of the country. I feel confidex
of the co-operation and aid of a
Michigan friends and alumni in m
work.'/
Professor Friday was first offered
the position as president on July 13.
The offer, however, did not suit Pro-
fessor Friday for he wired Gov.
Alex 'Grosbeck that he would defi-
nitely refuse to consider the position
for the coming year Then followed
a long period of ,negotiation, after
which, having considered the position
more thoroughly and seeing that ag-
riculture presents greater problems
than he first thought, he accepted.
When' questioned concerning his
policies for M. A. C., Professor Fri-
day refused to make any statement,
desiring to know more fully the prob-
lems confronting him before he dogs
so.
