LIGHT CONFERENCE
TEA MSBUSY TODAY
Minnesota-Wisconsin, and Michigan.
Illinois Are Center of Big
Ten Attractions
CHICAGO PLAYS COLORADO;
0. 8. U. -AND PURDUE REST
Eight Big Ten football teams swing
into action today. Of the live import-
ant games on the card two are with
outside- teams, and one of these comes
from far off Colorado.
With other important Conference
elevens playing opponents of relative-
ly little power in Big Ten circles, the
battle between Michigan and Illinois
at Urbana will hold the center of the
stage. Though the Indians are hope-
lessly out of the running for cham-
pionship honors they are alweays
ready to fight the Wolverines to the
last blow of the whistle, and a great
game is expected to result. " A decisive
victory for Michigan would once
more place the Maize and Blue in a

position to be considered as the great-
est eleven in the Conference, even
though it is now. all but impossible to
come out on top of the statistical heap.
- The men of Yost and Zuppke will
not have an option on. interest, how-
ever, for up in Maidson the teams of
Wisconsin and Minnesota meet in their
annual battle for supremacy, with the
Badgers all but conceded victory.
Iowa, prospective champions of the
Big Ten, figuratively speaking, will
find a cinch victory at Purdue, unless
the Boilermaker eleven has undergone
a complete rejuvenation. Notre Dame
and Indiana should fight it out on
even terms at Indianapolis, the Cath-
olics being slight favoorites.
Chicago partakes of her second in-
tersectional contest in as many weeks
when, jubilant over her defeat of
Princeton, her warriors will oppose
tl~e Colorado Aggies on Stagg field.
The Maroons should have an easy vic-
tory. Broken, battered and hopeless-
ly weak, Northwestern will rest in pre-
paration for her big battle with Pur-
due next week, while the Scarlet and
Grey of Ohio State will be idle prepar-
atory to the contest with Chicago.

SUTTON ARMLESS
BILLIARD WONDER
COMING TO UNION
To open its annual series of exhibi-
tion matches, the Union has secured
George H. Suttm, "the wizard of bil-
liards," to give-exhibitions the_, aft-
ernoon and evening of Wednesday,
Nov. 2, in the Union billiard room.
Though his arms are severed at the
elbows, Sutton plays a remarkable
game, running 100 and more constant-
ly. In addition, he has a goodly num-1
ber of fancy shots and is an able lec-
turer on the game. This will be his
first appearance before a Michigan
audience and it should be of interest
not only to billiard players but to
everyone.

Weldon Hames, '24, will vie with
John Gustus, '22, for premier honors
in the Fall Tennis tourney this aft-
ernoon. Gustus earned the right to

man in a match which was more bit-
erly contested than the 6-0, 8-6 score
would indicate, while Hames may con-
sider himself fortunate to have van-
quished Dunakin by a 6-4, 7-5 score in
the other semi-finals match. The
match this afternon will be decided
by the best 3 out of 5 sets.
