uon men who have already, upon numerous occa-
sions, proven -their abilities, it would seem wise to
call upon men who have been less active but pos-
sess none the less potential talents. They have
the privilege of appointing men outside the Coun-
cil on committees,
The obvious objebtion to this move would lie in
the danger of placing responsible work upon inex-
perienced shoulders and having it done inefficiently.
But by constantly placing new men on the com-
mittees along with a few older and more practiced
mnen,AXe danger would be obviated and the list of
capable men would be constantly growing.
Whether campus activities are justified must de-
pend lar-gely upon the nmbrner of men who deriye
actual benefit from them.
A lecturer in Chicago recently stated that the
boldness of the holdup men took one's breath away.
If they confined their "operations to only taking
that it wouldn't be. so bad.
And, in enumerating the great benefactors of the
human race do not forget to mention thl, main who
recently invented an automatic hat checker.
