Returns To City
After winning the Croix de Guerre,
the D. S. C., and being cited several
times for bravery in action, the only
Michigan ace, Lieut. Kenneth L. Por-
ter, '17E, of Dowagiac has returned
for a short visit to Ann Arbor.
Porter was among the first 100
American aviators to fly in France,
where he served in the 142 Aero
squadron with Eddie Rickenbacker
and Quentin Roosevelt. During his staf
of eight months at the front, Porter
was officially credited with five Ger-
man planes and unofficially with sev-
eral others.
1-e enlisted in June, 1917, and en-
tered his training course at Cham-
paign, 111. From there he was sent to
Texas and Canada. lie was ordered
to France and brought down his first
plane July 1, 1918. *He is staying at
1511 Washtenaw.

ANNUAL )ANCE FRIDAY NIGHT
Barrist#es, Vulcans, and Druids are
to hold their annual dance Friday
night at the Union. The B. V. D. for-
mal affair is to be held for the first
time since March, 1917. The alumni
of the societies will all be extended a
hearty welcome.
Fortune Left to Rebuild Churches
Paris, May 7.-Miss Boutet, who has
just died at Perpignan, at the .age of
75, has left her whole fortune to
France to be devoted to the work of
rebuilding churches destroyed by the
Germans. The amount will exceed
500,000 francs, or one hundred thou-
sand dollars.

Bicycle riding anywhere upon the Canipus except
in regular driveways has been forbidden by the Board
of Regents, in accordance with Public Act. No. 80 of
1905 as amended by Public Act No. 302 of 1907.
Violators are subject to prosecution under the terms of
these Acts. The Buildings and Grounds Department
has been instructed by the Regents to enforce this
legislation. These regulations are entirely separate
and distinct from the City ordinance relative to riding
bicycles upon sidewalks.
