Ace Returns To City After winning the Croix de Guerre, the D. S. C., and being cited several times for bravery in action, the only Michigan ace, Lieut. Kenneth L. Por- ter, '17E, of Dowagiac has returned for a short visit to Ann Arbor. Porter was among the first 100 American aviators to fly in France, where he served in the 142 Aero squadron with Eddie Rickenbacker and Quentin Roosevelt. During his staf of eight months at the front, Porter was officially credited with five Ger- man planes and unofficially with sev- eral others. 1-e enlisted in June, 1917, and en- tered his training course at Cham- paign, 111.
