at Highest Point
Making the day a patriotic as well
as a football celebration, the thir-
teenth annual contest between Mich-
igan and the Aggies, took on a double
aspect at Ferry field this afternoon.
With four bands on the field to fur-
nish plenty of martial music, the air
was filled with a spirit that told of
the recent triumph of democracy. The
raising of the American and French
flags by the bands of the allied na-
tions proved a very impressive and
interesting ceremony, whole the con-
tinuous concert offered by the musical
organizations on the field, during in-
tervals between play, made the after-
noon fly rapidly.
Spirit at High Point
Student spirit was at its highest
point. Despite the outcome of the
contest, both rooting stands were pre-
vaded by a spirit of friendly rivalry
that added only to the interest of the
occasion.
Michigan noise-making was at its
height when White, Lamport and Par-
menter, kept the Maize and Blue root-
ers in a constant uproar. Neither
team was lacking in backing.
The review of the members of the
S. A. T. C. and naval unit of the 'Uni-
versity also brought a great deal of
comment. Despite the short training
period, the men of both units carried
themselves as veterans.
