that insinuates itself into our very
marrow and makes life one long,
blissful song, is promised in the lat-
est Mutt and Jeff series which is un-
derlined as the next attraction at the
Whitney theater Saturday and. Sun-
day nights and Sunday matinee.

of already witnessing this piece of
genuine tomfoolery and fun pro-
nounce it as the final word in up-to-
date stage entertainment and modern
producing. It is in three rollicking
acts and is entitled "Mutt and Jeff
in the Wooly West." The plot nat-

humorous cartoon personages ample
opportunities to display their talents
for arousing mirth, which has been
their quota ever since their gifted cre-
ator, "Bud" Fisher, first brought them
into the light of fame and happiness.
As on previous occasions Little
Jeff becomes the buffer for a num-
ber of side-splitting pranks at the
hands of that champion practical Jok-
er and troublemaker, A. Mint, though
in the end Jeff sufficiently outwits his
chum and tormentor by becoming the
proud possessor of a valuable gold
mine, which has been willed to him
by his deceased brother. Their ad-
ventures carry them through many
periods of stress and high jinks, but
throughout all there is an irresistible
tumult of hearty laughter and infec-
tious mirth. As on former occasions,
