There are a few thoughtful men who
care to pursue a life in college so
entirely devoted to study that no time
is given to the cultivation of person-
ality, and without "doing something
for Michigan," as the phrase -is usu-
ally worded.
Citizenship in a university whose
traditions in athletics, journalism,
(ramatics and scholarship are strong
and honorable, involves the responsi-
bility to maintain as well as the priv-
ilege to enjoy them.
All-university institutions, which
blend all campus interests, need men
possessed of qualities of leadership,
and, in addition, a knowledge of cam-
pus conditions which can only be se-
cured by several years of training.,
It is the freshman class especially
which, at this time of the year, sup-
plies recruits who are later to hold
the various offices. In the same ra-
tio that they accept their responsibil-
ities now, will these institutions be
successful when this freshman class
are seniors.

LIFE INSURANCE FOR STUDENTS
Where it is necessary for a student
to make a loan to enable him to finish
his education, lie will find it easier to
do so, if he can give a policy of life
insurance as his security that the
loan will be paid in the event of his
death before he has been able to pay
it off out of his earnings. The Provi-
dence Lie and Trust Co.. have a spe-
cial proposition for students. Harry
