Someone at an inspired momentj
brougjht fort a good idea. Whether
it was the Council or pct we do not
know, but to the Council must go the
credit for putting the idea into exe-
cution, We refer to the recent cam-
paign looking toward the abolition of
Michigan suitcase lallels. Three of
the best spirited of the local merchants
have already fallen into line, and it is
to be hoped that the rest will see their
way clear to lend their active coop-.
eration before many more days have
passed.
It is all very well to be proud of
Michigan. She deserves it. But we
have our opinion of the man we see
carrying a suitcase decorated with a
gaudy label which announces to all
who ride and read that there is -a
university named Michigan and that
her colors are Maize and Blue. The
worst of it is that the owner of the
suitcase is always looked upon as a
typical Michigan men.
