The new appointments to the staff
of the Homeopathic hospital and the
positions to be filled by the members
of the staff who are leaving was made
known yesterday.
Dr. C. D. Pillsbury, who has been
senior assistant in surgery under Dr.
H. M. Beebe, will go in business for
himself in Ann Arbor with his offices
over the German-American bank build-
ing and Howard Holcombe, resident
physician at the hospital will take the
position as senior assistant made 'va-
cant by the resignation of Dr. Pills-
bury.
P. E. Haynes, '16H, will become the
junior assistant under Dr. Beebe in
the surgery ward. H. M. ;Sage, senior
assistant in the eye, ear and nose ward
under Dr. Dean Myers, will, enter p'i-
vate practice next year. Dr. Robert
S. Ideson, who is now an assistant in
the hospital, will be made senior as-
sistant, and Dr. Criswell will be made
junior assistant under Dr. Dean Myers
in the eye, ear and nose ward,
Dr. Eugene Hildebranpdt, '15H, who is
now practicing medicine in Dundee,
will be the senior assistant in gyne-
cology and. obstetrics under Dr. C. B.
Kinyon. Eugene S. Thornton, '16H,
who was to have been junior assistant
in gynecology and obsteitrics, will en-
ter practice in Muskeg-oni with Dr. Le
Fever of that city. Dr. F.. R. Town will
continue to be assistant in internal
nmedicine under Dr. W. B. Hinsdale.
Willy Voight, '17H, wall' be recom-
mended by, Dr. W. B.. Tinadale at the.
next regents' meetinrg as director of
the clinical laboratory, suecceding Dr.
Ralph R. Mellon.

entertained the student residents and
managers of the Martha Cook build-
ing yesterday morning at breakfast,'
at the Newberry residence. Plans had
been made to hold the party in the
woods, but the bad weather interfered.
Patriotic decorations were in evidence

American Book Company to Give .$1500
in Corpus Juris Contest
Announcement has been made .of
the Corpus Juris scholarships for the
fall of 1916, three scholarships of $500
each being available for award in
September for post-graduate work.
The competition for these prizes is
limtied to the winners of the CYC
prizes, who automatically become eli-
gible to compete for the Corpus Juris
scholarship.,
Each thesis for the $500 prize must
be mailed to the American Book coni-
pany not later than August 1, 1916,
under registered mail. They will be
examined by a competent committee
selected by the company during. Au-
gust, and the winners will be an-
nounced bySeptember 1.
The Corpus Juris scholarships were
founded by the American Book com-
pany in 1915, for the encouragement
of post-graduate work and a deeper
study of the science and philosophy of
law. Students intending to compete
for the scholarship should register
their names and intention with the
American Book company, 27 Cedar
street, New York, to secure the sub-
ject of their thesis and other informa-
tion.
Hillsdale Club Elects New Officers
The election of officers of the Hills-
dale college club resulted in the elec-
tion of Stanley B. Robertson, '17M,
for president; Cassius M. Coldren,
'isM, for vice-president, and Tom 11.
Robertson for secretary-treawiurer.
