APPE ARANCE OF NEW MEN
BRIGHTENS SOCCER PROSPECTS
Darkness alone stopped the anxious
soccer candidates last night after a
strenuous afternoon of hard practice.
Coach E. R. McCall, '15L, has some
splendid material this fall, and all in-.
dications point to a successful season.
Several men, who have had consider-
able training at soccer in different
parts of England, are out, and the task
of selecting aformidable lineup to op-
pose Ypsilanti Friday on the peda-
gogues' own field does not seem diffi-
cult.
Haig Dombooragien, '17E, an Arme-
nian, who was a member of Lansing's
state champion soccer team last year,
made his initial appearance yesterday,
and Coach McCall was immediately
impressed by his unusual skill.-
Besides several other new men of
exceptional ability, McCall has a fine
nucleus left over from last year, and
Michigan will undoubtedly be repre-
sented by a star soccer aggregation
this fall.
ALL ORGANIZATIONS URGED TO
SEND DELEGATES TO MEETING

address of Dr. R. Bishop Canfield of
the university hospital staff, on
"Throat Infections," before the health
service representatives in the medical
building, Wednesday night, October 21;
at 8:00 o'clock.
It is important that all organizations
desiring to cope with the health ser-
vice' in. the project send their repre-
sentatives to this meeting. All or-
ganizations that have not elected a
delegate are requested to do so at
once. An election of officers of the
general body will be held, and other

Editor, The Michigan Daily:-,
I attended the fine organ recital giv-
en by Mr. Earl Moore last Thursday
and was greatly annoyed by the bab-j
blings and screamings and contortions
of a precious infant that some mother
had been inconsiderate enough to
bring along with her. In all the most
delicate passages this darling cherub
was inspired to make the most noise,
and the misguided mother looked
around with a fatuous smile as much
as to say "Did you ever see anything
so cunning?" The scowls and shrugs
of the disgustedpeople about had no
effect. When a woman is so incom-
prehensibly selfish as to disturb a
great audience with the performances
of her interesting offspring, is there
nothing to be done? Cannot the ush-
ers be given authority to keep such
women out by force if necessary?
Yours in wrath,
R. G. BOARDMAN.
