sive man, extremely accurate at both,
long and short shots, he is an inval-
uable man to any team, Perry is a
player of the samne type, and in addi-
tion is an excellent foul shooter.
Warner was the best man on the
junior lit team, and . plays the floor
well. Matteson proved in the one
game he played, to be an individual
player of extraordinary ability, and
he might have landed on the first team
if he had played more games. The
fastest man on the floor this year ap-
peared to be Brown, the fresh lit for-
ward. Although he averaged less than
two baskets a game, and is very small,
he was of great value to his team by
keeping the whole of the opposing
team on the defensive with his remark-
able floor work.
Few good centers were in evidence
this year. However, three or four men
stood out well above the others. Mei-
beyer, star of the architect aggrega-
tion, appeared the best of any center
on the campus. He is an accurate
passer, fair basket shooter and a hard
fighter. Miller played a good game
for the freshmen at center. He was
a good jumper and passer, but often
inaccurate on his basket shooting.
Bradbeer and Hyde were the only
other two centers whose work branded
them as first class.
A myriad of good guards appeared
on the courts this year. ',Nathan
proved a valuable cog in the freshman
machine, both 'defensively and offens-
ively. His showing entitled him to
the choice as running guard. Playing
opposite him, Staatz is the logical
choice. Although the football man has,
generally played forward and center,
his defensive work is excellent. He is
a fast and heavy man, never leaves his
feet, and is a good basket thrower.
He would fit in well as the anchor
man for the team. Marsh, who landed
on the first team for the past two
years, was placed on the second team
this year. Although a fast and hard
player, his work was marred by a
tendency to roughness. Cohagen play-
ed an all-around game for the archi-
tects.. He is a, good stationary guard,
passes well, and would fit in well with
Marsh.
Headman was a guard of first class
ability, who played an excellent floor
game, and starred on the defense. An
awkwardness at basket shooting caused
him to be left from the first teams.
Melaniphy played an excellent game,
excelling as a passer. The other guards
mentioned all played good basketball,
and in years when the competition was
not so great, would probably have
placed on the first teams.
