"Eligibility. Students desiring, to
take part in any public activity, or in
the preparation of such activity, must,
before such participation, or prep-
aration, obtain from the chair-
man of the sub-committee on eligibili-
ty of the senate committee on student
affairs an official certificate of eligibil-
ity. Application cards for such certi-
fication must be produced from the
chairman or secretary of the senate
committee or the chairman of the sub-
committee on eligibility, and when
signed by the secretary of the school
or college to which the student be-
longs, filed with the chairman of the
sub-committee on eligibility. This
chairman, upon favorable action by his
committee, will issue the official cer-
tificate of eligibility. No student may
engage in any public activity until
such official certificate is filed with the
proper officer in charge of that activ-
ity.
III.
"Probation. . Students on probation
are forbidden to take part in any pub-
lic activity.
IV.
"Warning. Students on the warned
list are foridden to participate in any
public activity.
V.
"Conditions and Failures. Students
having outstanding conditions or fail-
uresare prohibited from participating
in any public activity except by special
permission from the senate committee
on student affairs. In general a grade
of D will be considered as a condition.
VI.
"Special Students. Special students
are prohibited from participating in
any public activity except by special
permission of the senate committee on
student affairs.
VIL.
"First Year. No student shall take
part in any public activity during his
first year of residence in the universi-
ty; except by special permission of the
senate committee on student affairs.
This shall not exclude such students
without conditions and otherwise in
good standing, from participating in
the public activities of their class.
VIII.
"General. The senate committee on
student affairs has the right to prohibit
a student from participating in any
public activity whatever, in the opin-
ion of the committee, such participa-
tion is detrimental to his college work.
Ix.
"Special Permission. The special
permission to participate in public ac-
tivities in exception to rules V, VI, and
VII, will be granted by the senate
committee on student affairs only upon
the positive recommendation of the
faculty of the school or college to
which the student belongs. Petitions
for such special permission must in
every case be presented before the par-
ticipation in the activity is begun."
Ithacans Play Indoor Practice Game
Coach Sharpe's Cornell baseball
squad held the initial indoor practice
baseball game of the season Friday.
Cornell boasted of a crack baseball
nine last year, ranking with Pennsyl-
vania as the best in the east. In fact
Michigan's decisive victories over the
Cornell and Pennsylvania teams were
the principal point upon which the
Wolverines were awarded the national
championship.
