The play, as a matter of fact, deals
but slightly with mobs. The nasty
crowd sentiment is only revealed in
the last part of the final act,.although
a kind of public disapproval hovers
over all of the action. The published
drama makes striking reading, par-
ticularly at a time when the motives
wihich prompt wars are subject to pop-
ular scrutiny.
CASES OF DYSENTERY TO BE
INVESTIGATED BY OFFICIALS
To determine the cause of the gener-
al epidemic of dysentery among the
student body, the officials of the uni-
versity health service are making tests
of the meats being used in boarding
houses.
During the past few days the water
and the milk supplies of the city have
been examined without any findings.
The epidemic started a few days ago,
but as there has not been any check
in the number of cases, the city and,
university officers have determined to
find the cause. Among other things,
it is believed that unwashed fruits are
to blame.

Branch Establishments in
South America
Through her South American stu-
dents, Michigan will have an oppor-
tunity to take part in the important
step in modern banking instituted by
the National City Bank of New York.
Registrar A. G. Hall is in receipt of a
letter from that bank asking for a
list of all South American students
in college at present, and of those
who have graduated within the past
few years.
The bank's plan is to get in touch
with these men in view of employing
them in its installation of branch
banks on the southern continent. This,
institution is one of the first to take
advantage of recent legislation making
the establishment of foreign branches
possible.
The following appeared in a recent
number of "The Independent," in re-
gard to the National City Bank's ac-
tion: "Taking advantage of the pro-
vision of the Owen currency act per-

miting the establishment of foreign
branches by American banking houses,
the National City Bank of New York,
the largest in the country, recently an-
nounced that it would open branches
in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and at
Brazil. Later another branch is to
be established at Valparaiso, Chill."
Seek Accommodations For Delegates
Canvass of the people of the various
churches of the city for accommoda-
tions for the 2,000 delegates who will
attend the Boys' Conference in Ann
Arbor November 27, 28, and 29, has
enabled the entertainment committee
to find rooms for 300 of the boys. A
house to house canvass has been start-
ed this week in order to secure accom-
modations for the remaining 1700 del-
egates. Applications have been com-
ing in steadily.
