our Spring Oxfords are now in stock. Why
not select just the right width and size now.
You can come in and get them later when
you need them. You may not be able to get
just the size you require if you wait until the
season opens. A word to the wise is suffi-
cient. Experience teaches. Come in and
see the New English Lasts. We have not
shown them in our window as yet.

COMMUNICATION.
(This paper assumes no responsibility
for sentiments expressed in com-
munications.)
Editor, Michigan Daily:-
Every once in a while, at a gathering
of men students, especially at a ban-
quet, someone permits himself to tell
a smutty story.
Sometimes it creates a laugh. Some-
times it merely causes the other stu-
dents to grin sheepishly at one anoth-
er.
But it always has one effect: it
lowers the teller of the story in the
eyes of his fellows.
They may not say so. They may
even clap him on the back and say,
"Mighty good story, old man." But
down deep in their hearts, if they have
been decently brought up, they know
better. They know what happens to
the man who handles pitch.
Sometimes these stories are told
before members of the faculty. Agree-
able, isn't it, for a man of character
and refinement to watch one of his
own students smearing himself with
filth, unable to rebuke him without vi-
olating the amenities.
Cut it out.
It's needless, it's boorish, it's un-
funny.
Cut out the smut.

SENIOR LAWS MAY PETITION
FOR OUT OF TOWN BANQUET
Following the recent, action of the
authorities in prohibiting out-of-town
class functions, the senior laws are
puzzled as to where they will hold
their class banquet which has been
set for May 3. Prevailing sentiment
among the members favors an out of
town banquet and it is probable that
some city other than Ann Arbor will
be chosen when the matter is brought
up at the next meeting of the class.
Following this a petition will be pre-
sented to the authorities, asking per-
mission to take the banquet out of
towli.
