THE DAY FOR THE TOQUE.
Students are proud to be in the
block "M" at the big game, visitors al-
ways admire it, photographers fight
for the best place to "snap" it, and the
Sunday papers feature it. It adds at-
mosphere to the game, it brings people
back another year, it fires the rooters,
it helps win gams. Truly, the for-
tunate ones among us must not forget
their block "M" flags next Saturday.
But, striking as that great "M" is,
there is an opportunity this year to
better it, or rather, to add another
scenic feature to the north bleacher
without detracting from the former.
Under the present seating arrange-
ment, a fifty-yard section of that
bleacher has been divided into four al-
most equal parts. In one part will sit
the seniors, in the next the juniors, in
another the sophomores, and in the last
the freshmen. Now focus your imag-
ination on that fifty-yard section, pic-
ture those four classes in their re-
spective places, put on the head of
each and every member of them the
toque that belongs there,-and you
have the effect.
The "M" is at its best only during
the short period when the flags are
held up for the photograph; but this
new feature would. be permanent
throughoutthe game. Those toques
stay put. Think about it; and don't
let that half-dollar burn your pocket.
SCHOOL OF MUSIC HEAD WILL

music.
In order to give glee club men and
others a chance to attend the meetings
of the Vereinthetime will be changed

day and delivered a lecture to chem-
ical students on the subject "Necessi-
ties of and Benets of DIrug and Food
Legislation."
On account of the untoward activi-
ties of the $$$$ staff, we are requested
to abbreviate ourselves today. Sad,
coming just on the day when we want-
ed to write an elongated biographical
sketch on the life and works of Nero.
