WILL THE ATHLETIC ASSO-
CIATION CONFORM TO THE
WISHES OF ITS MEMBERS
PENN'S TEAM.
We congratulate the University of
Pennsylvania on its wonderful team.
Whether or not that team is weak in
comparison with other universities
this year, it is, nevertheless, a won-
derful team.
In the past, when Michigan has pull-
ed impossible games out of the fire
in the last dying moments of play, we,
have zealously attributed victory to a
never-say-die fighting spirit, entirely
our own.
In coming to the realization that
other universities have that same
spirit in the same degree with Mich-
igan, we can not help but feel grati-
fied for the object lesson which is con-
stantly being given every student body
in the country by its athletic teams.
Pennsylvania's brilliant finish yes-
terday, with everything against it,
can't help but be an inspiration for
the alumni and the men and women of
the University of Pennsylvania.

her lamps, his brain cells meantime
pump-ing in a tire-less frenzy-a mix-
ture of un-spoke-n adoration and
dash-ing gallon-try. She made a bolt,
driving him four-speeds-reverse, at
the same time spoke-ing thuswise:
"Axel Hollingsworth, had I a torpedo
I' wood stop this gas-ing. Spark-ing
of this nature induces the transmis-
sion of osculatory joims. Spring
hence!"
Whereupon even the shock.,Absorb.

Socialism Will Be Topic of Lecture.

FRESH SPRINTER MAY RECOVER
Alfred Lindner's Condition Improved;
Regains Consciousness.
There is a slight chance that Alfred
Lindner, '16, will recover from the at-
tack of blood poisoning caused from
a stone bruise received while cross-
country running recently. A slight
change for the better was noticed yes-
terday morning.
Yesterday the patient was able to
take nourishment, and at times was
conscious, recognizing his father when
addressed.
PROF. TRUEBLOOD WILL GIVE
LECTURE ON JULIUS CAESAR

blood in University Hall Tuesday ev-

cepted for admission. Single admis-

Starting tomorrow Dr. George A.

SOCCER ENTHUSIASTS MAKE
DEBUT AT ALL-FRESH GAIE
But Few Experienced Players Respond
to Coach Douglas' Call
for Candidates.
Soccer made its debut at Michigan
yesterday afternoon between the halv-
es of the Fresh-Adrian tussle. In many
ways the initial attempt to introduce
the sport was unsuccessful. Experi-
enced men failed to appear and Coach
Douglas coiuld only gather enough
amateurs to make two teams of nine
men each, 11 being the regulation num-
ber.
Although sceptical onlookers ridi-
culed the soccer men, enough interest
was shown to make the game a lasting
sport. The soccer season extends into
December and it is believed that Coach
Douglas will keep his men busy until
the game is shelved for the winter. '
