SPRING FOOTBALL
WORK BEGINS SOON
Hichtigan1 Gridiron Candid ifes Asked
to Report April 14 For THree
Weeks' Drill.
COACH YOST WILL BE ON HAND
Spring football practice will begin
immediately after spring vacation, ac-
cording to an announcement made by
Captain "Jimmie" Raynsford last
night.
The gridiron candidates have been
requested to report on Ferry field
Tuesday, April 14; and Coach Yost is
expected to be on hand for the first
day's practice.
The Michigan tutor will remain for
at least two weeks of the three weeks'
work, and Assistant Coach "Germany"
Schultz may also be on hand.
HAPPY ACCIDENT RESTORES
SENSES OF FORMER STUDENT
-o--
Chelsea C. Utterbeck, a senior-in the
law department in 1912, deprived of,
sight, speech, and hearing through in-
juries received when two D. U. R. cars
met head-on east of Detroit, two years
ago, is now in a fair way to regain his
lost senses through an accident suf-
fered a short time ago.
While he was engaged in some work
on a farm where he has been staying
since the accident, he fell from a lad-
der, and struck his head, becoming
unconscious. Later he was able to
hear with the aid of an ear trumpet,
and after much effort was able to
speak. A few days ago his sight re-
turned, and it is the belief of the phys-
icians that he will recover fully in
time.
A NEW SODA WATER FOUNTAIN.
Two or three weeks ago The Uni-
verstiy Pharmacy installed a new Wal-
rus Soda Fountain. This is the most
modern Fountain of Youth in the city
and should certainly be popular with
the students in the south-western part
of the town. As far as being sanitary
and up-to-date goes, there is nothing
in the city that can beat it and cer-
tainly the students should not be lax.
