VACATION AND GRIM HUMOR.
Everywhere there is confusion, ner-
vous expectancy and bustling prepa-
ration. But a few hours stand be-
tween us and home, home friends and
relatives. We are glad. We are hap-
py.
Be thankful that you are not junior
dents, that you are not slated to spend
the next ten days mulcting the musc-
les and the lifeless fibres of clammy
laboratory stiffs.

1Oh, happy, happy, happy me
I chuckle to myself;
Oh, happy, happy, happy me
My grudge is on the shelf.
But stop-you think that I am glad
Because vacation's near;
You think that I am blowing off
Cause soon I'll see some dear?

THE POPULAR PLACE

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Soon your home community will be
canvassed by the Michigan Union. You
understand perfectly what the Michi-
gan Union means to Michigan, Michi-
gan spirit and the Michigan student
body. But it will be a strange story to
the alumni with whom you will come
into contact.
Clip the Union statistical story that
appears in The Daily news columns,
this morning, and you will be amply
prepared to educate the alumni, the
university's friends and the high
school lad.
Make the article your companion.
AS STUDENT TO STUDENT.
In some respects the Michigan stu-
dent is extremely hypersensitive. If
a mistake has been made, it is not to
be pointed out by a fellow student no
matter where the right is. That is too
much !
You say tact, judgment and diplom-
acy are necessary. But frequently
they mean ineffectiveness. Probably a
little more tact on one side and less
bigotry on the other, would work a
happy solution.
GERMAN PLAY WILL DEPICT
LIFE IN BUSINESS WORLD
Modern German business life fur-
nishes the setting for Moser's "Der
Professor als Kauffmann," the farce-
comedy which the Deutscher Verein
has chosen for its annual production
this year. The play deals with a pro-
fessor who thinks he can succeed in
the business world. The humor of the
comedy results from the professor's
attempts to make good as a merchant.
The play, which will be produced
in Sarah Caswell Angell hall on April
24, is recognized as one of the best
modern German farce-comedies.
All Libraries Open Except Rhetoric
The general library will be open ev-
ery day except Sunday during the
spring vacation until 5:00 o'clock. The
medical, law, and engineering libra-
ries will keep their usual hours during
the holidays, but the rhetoric library
closes tonight at 5:00 o'clock, and
does not reopen until April 13.

Plan For Vacation Entertainments
The University Y. M. C. A. and the
city churches are planning a series
of socials in McMillan hall for the
entertainment of the students who
stay in Ann Arbor during the vacation.
The first one will be given tomorrow
night and it is very probable that they
will be continued every night next
week.
