YOUR CHOICE.
At least one student has been found
guilty of red handed participation7 in
the ;recent riots and will be punished.
Our heads must rule our hearts in
this matter, Michigan's present aind

it. We havel the choice of siding with
a stu>dent in temporary disgrace, self
inflicted, or with Michigan, our uni-
versity, and all that it stands for.
Michigan must show the world that
these step children are not to be tol-
erated; she must show the other step
children that rioting will not ;be tol-
erated.
We must sit close on this mnatter,
think hard, prove guilt and then pun-
ish, according to Michigan's demands.
No one individual or set of individuals,
can be allowed to retard or to be-

00,000,

The fact that only a few of aWgan g
of rioters are apprehended, can be
no excuse for mitigating the p~unish-
ment of the few. The. ideal} is always
to punish all the guilty, but human
lawy can only punish those who can
be caught and proved guilty, The
guilt of the few remains, despite the
escape of some.
It would be unfair to society. to par-
don the guilty few, simply because all,
the guilty cannot be punished. j
