meets this afternoon in Tappan hall
at 4:30 o'clock.

of boat club at the Union at 5:00
o'clock this afternoon.
Band meet tonight in Barbour gym
at 7:15 o'clock. Bring coats.
Members of the football smoker com-
mittee must be at the gymnasiums to-
day at all hours possible. Men will
be needed especially in the morning.
WILL1 LAY CLUB ilOSE PLANS
BEFORE FOIEICN STUENTS
Plans for the proposed clubhouse
of the Cosmopolitan club will be dis-
cussed at the regular meeting of the
organization next Friday at 7:30
o'clock in Newberry hall. The 40 mem-
bers recently elected will be introduc-
ed ht the gathering; and the revision
of the constitution will also be con-
sidered. Efforts are being made to
have Prof. John R. Alen, of the engi-
neering department, who was in Con-
stantinople during the Balkan war, to
"speak upon his experience at the meet-
ing.
Former Daily Mani to Talk to Class.
Walter K. Towers, '12L, former
*Michigan Daily editor, will speak on
"The Law of Newspaper Libel," in
room 207 of the rhetoric building,
Thursday morning at 9:00 o'clock. Mr.
Towers is now assistant editor ;ofthe
American Boy and editor of the Law
Student's Helper in Detroit. The le-
ture will be given before Prof. Scott's
class in journalism, but is opento the
student body.
Will Write ]look on Great English Poet
M. C. Wier of the rhetoric depart-
mnent is collecting material for a book
on Algernon Charles Swinburne,,the
great English poet, which will be pub-
lished the early part of next year.
Senior lDinnerto Be Held Wednesday
The first senior lit dinner will be
held at 6:00 o'clock at the Union Wed-
nesday night. Pres Waldo Fellows
of the class will preside as toastmaster
and the presidents of the other lit
(classes are on the program for talks.
Prof. R. M. Wenley of the philosophy
department will be the speaker of the
evening. Music will be furnished by
Ralph Conger and Bruce Miles.
