The Grand Chapter of Chi Omega is'
making the aUggestion to .the Boards
of Regents of various uiniversities that
sororities be compelled to have a chap-
erone of college training and culture.
it is also suggested that this womian
should become recognized as a mem-
ber of the university.
The basketball 'season opens this
week and all women of athletic incli-
nations are urged to' come out for
practice. Each class' will be repre-
sented by a team and the players will
not' be picked until after the semester
examinations, The game schedule will
consist of three underclass and three
upperclass games and the winner of
each trio will play together for the
campus championship. For the last
two years the class of 1915 has car-
ried off the honors. Each member of
the championship team is awarded a'
B. B. along with numerals and the sil-
ver' cup goes to the team.
Seniors and freshmen will, practice
on 'Thursday at 5:00 o'clock and Jun-
iors and Sophomores on Tuesday at
5:00 o'clock.
Bishop Williams of 'Detroit will
speak to women at Newberry hail next
Sunday at 4:'30 o'clock.
More than $100.00 has been cleared
by the Y. W. C. A. from the sale of
chrysanthemums last Saturday, but
the exact figures are not definitely
known as yet.
