neering building for the business meet-
ing and technical paper. Professor

MUSIC AND DRAMA
Norman Hackett In "Satan Sanderson"
One of the most interesting dramas
of the season is promised in the en-
gagement of Mr. Norman Hackett and
his own company in "Satan Sander-
son" a dramatization of Hallie Er-
minie Rive's book of the same title,
by Kirk Alexander and Frances Sib-
ley, both Detroit newspaper writers,
which will be offered at the Whitney
Theater Wednesday, October 25.
Norman Hackett, a popular young
star will be seen in the title role, that
of a young minister, the Rev. Henry
Sanderson. The plot of the play is
constructed around a psychological
fact of mistaken identity. There is a
remarkable resemblance between
Hugh Stires, son of one of the leading
figures and Henry Sanderson. In col-
lege life they were chums; it was
there that Sanderson earned the so-
briquette of "Satan," through his esca-
pades and dare-devilness. He led and
Hugh followed, but he reformed while
Hugh continued his riotous living.
The unusual romance, the splendid
manliness of Sanderson, his herole
fight against the past he is led to be-
lieve was his,-all of these and many
more incidents are elements that go to
make the dramatization of "Satan
Sanderson" even more interesting
than the book. The, play is in five
acts, each of which has been treated
in a lavish manner. The play has,
been directed by the prominent wom-
an producer Miss Jessie Bonstelle and
Messrs. Stair and Nichola, Mr. Hack-
ett's managers, promise most lavish
and complete scenic production and a
specially selected cast.
Freshmen Must Obtain Seat Numbers.
Freshmen of the engineering depart-
ment are required to obtain their seat
numbers for assembly before Wednes-
day, October 25. Beginning on that
date attendance will be taken.
Engineering Debaters Meet Tonight.
A meeting of the, debaters of the
Engineering Society will be held in the
society's rooms this evening at 7
o'clock. An organization will be ef-
fected and officers elected.
Davidson, '12 E, Nominated by Petition
W. A. Davidson, '12 E, has been nom-
inated by petition for secretary of his
class. In the account of the 12 E class
meeting the name of R. S. Campbell,
one of the nominees for football mana-
ger was omitted.
A mistake was made in the notice of
the Junior Lit class meeting. Clyde
W. Nicolson was nominated instead of
Nels 0. Nicholson.
Will Address Commerce Club Tonight.
Mr. Wilson, secretary of the Detroit
Board of Commerce, will give the first
of a series of talks to be delivered be-
fore the Commerce Club during the
year, at the Union this evening. The
subject of the lecture is "Duties of a
Commercial Secretary." The meeting
will start at 7:30 and is open to mem-
bers only.
Rose Loses World's Record.
Ralph Rose, who holds the varsity
shot put record, had his world's ree-
ord in the 26 pound shot broken yes-
terday in New York by P. J. MacDon-
ald, who hurled the ball 38 feet 10
11-16 inches.
