MUSIC AND DRAMA Norman Hackett In "Satan Sanderson" One of the most interesting dramas of the season is promised in the en- gagement of Mr. Norman Hackett and his own company in "Satan Sander- son" a dramatization of Hallie Er- minie Rive's book of the same title, by Kirk Alexander and Frances Sib- ley, both Detroit newspaper writers, which will be offered at the Whitney Theater Wednesday, October 25. Norman Hackett, a popular young star will be seen in the title role, that of a young minister, the Rev. Henry Sanderson. The plot of the play is constructed around a psychological fact of mistaken identity. There is a remarkable resemblance between Hugh Stires, son of one of the leading figures and Henry Sanderson. In col- lege life they were chums; it was there that Sanderson earned the so- briquette of "Satan," through his esca- pades and dare-devilness. He led and Hugh followed, but he reformed while Hugh continued his riotous living. The unusual romance, the splendid manliness of Sanderson, his herole fight against the past he is led to be- lieve was his,-all of these and many more incidents are elements that go to make the dramatization of "Satan Sanderson" even more interesting than the book. The, play is in five acts, each of which has been treated in a lavish manner. The play has, been directed by the prominent wom- an producer Miss Jessie Bonstelle and Messrs. Stair and Nichola, Mr. Hack- ett's managers, promise most lavish and complete scenic production and a specially selected cast. Freshmen Must Obtain Seat Numbers. Nicolson was nominated instead of Nels 0. Nicholson. Will Address Commerce Club Tonight. Mr. Wilson, secretary of the Detroit Board of Commerce, will give the first of a series of talks to be delivered be- fore the Commerce Club during the year, at the Union this evening.
