Graduates of the Grand Rapids Cen-
tral high school who are attending the
university, met in McMillan hall Fri-
day evening to consider the formation
of a Grand Rapids club. Prof. Jesse B.
Davis, principal of the school, attend-
ed and addressed those present. It is
the intention of those who are inter-
ested in the movement to call a meet-
ing of all university students from
Grand Rapids Central soon after
spring vacation and draw up tentative
plans- for the organization of such a
club. The time and place of the meet-j
ing will be announced later.
PROF. BOWMAN OF YALE WILL
LECTURE ON TRIP IN ANIES,
Prof. isiaih Tcwman of the Depart-
ment o, Geography at Yale will give
two lectures here under the auspices of
the geology department, Thursday of
this week, in the economics lecture
ro.i) These lectures will give the
results of- recent explorations in the
Andes, and will be illustrated by ster-
eoptican slides. The subject of the
first lecture, which will be delivered at
4:15 p. m., will be, "The Mountains and
Deserts of Bolivia." The second lec-
ture will be delivered at 8 p. m. and
will be upon the subject of "Geograph-
ical explorations in the Peruvian An-
des." Professor Bowman has just re-
turned from the Yale expedition to the
Peruvian Andes.
Curtis and Lasher Address Eremites.
The society of the Eremites made up
of eighteen members chosen from the
various departments of the university,
banqueted at the Union last evening.
Leonard Cretcher acted as toastmaster
and "Art" Curtis, '11, and Starr Lash-
er, '11, responded to toasts.
