Says Bartelnie.
"No, we shall hardly gets into the
new Michigan field house in time for
"Saturday's game with Case," said,
fDirector Bartelme yesterday in dis-
~cussing the probabilities of at least
Jusing the showers in the future new
q~uarters of Michigan athletic teams.
"We' might get. into~ the~ field house
were the game a week hence, he con-
tinued, but hardly Saturday."
Director' Bartelme then went on to
state that the work on the field house
had met, with various setbacks and
that its completion had consequently
been-delayed. He hoped that now the
work would be rushed to its culmina-
tion.
"It is possible that we will get into
the field house on the team's return
fromn the M. A. C. game," - he stated.
"Then perhaps we can fix up a little
formal opening for the 0. S. U. game
October :31."

The Case game this afternoon marks
*the inaugural of an athletic season
which bids fair to prove the most suc-
cessful in Michigan 'athletic history.
To the men who today are to 'play a
great part in making the year a mem-
orable one, The Michigan Daily in
the name of 6,000 students wishes
them every measure of success. At
the same time it assures them their
support and encouragement ,and, that
this will be manifested" at, Ferry Field

Bigger Circulation is Now Being
Planned.
"In the three years that the Gar-
goyle has appeared as a student pub-
lication its subscribers have been so
pleased with. the paper that this year
we confidently. expect a circulation of
.1,600 copies a month," said Managing'
Editor Riordan last Thursday. "The
Gargoyle is a paper that offers excep-
tional opportunities for students tal-
ented in drawing and literature both
humorous and serious, and we need
men," he continued.
The Gargoyle this year will be en-
larged in all its departments, and con-
tributions of every kind will be solic-
ited. Candidates mpay try for the po-
sitions of art and humor editors, and,
appointments to the staff will be made,
as formerly from students who show~,
ability in their contributions. Those
desiring to compete for positions on
the staff, or who have material of any
kind to offer to the paper should either
call on or communicate with the man-
aging editor at the Gargoyle offices in
the Annr Arbor Press Building any
afternoon from two to four.
Regardless of the enlargement of
the paper, the subscription price will
remain the same as in previous years,
seventy-five cents a year, ten cents
a copy. The first issue of the Gar-
goyle will appear October 25. Sub-
scriptions for the paper may' be ob-
tained at the Gargoyle office, and a
canvass will be made fort subscrip-
