F0, W. GROSS,

CREA , TOR OF "1RAMESE+S" IS
MYSTERIOUS POSTER ARTIST.
From the quiet solitude of a writ-
er's study to the, limelight, of an art
exhibit, Joseph Hudnut, who wrote
! "The Awakened Rameses," has, been
pushed, or rather dragged, by the op-
era poster committee. He is the, win-
ner of a third prize in the poster con-
te~st and to. him belongs the picture
which was "anonymous" for several
days.
Hudnut dislikes publicity and it was.-'
with malice aforethought that he hand-
ed in his drawing, unsigned. When
thte selections were made,, the judges
chose his contribution as the third
best but they did not 'know that the
author of the opera was the artist.
Efforts were made to locate the "un-
known" contributor. but they failed
and it was not until a thorough; cali-
vass of all the "Latin. Quarter" of Ann
Arbor was made that the rightful win-
*ner .was located.:
The three posters will, be exhibited
on State street 'today.
The U. of M. Boat House will close
