You're out in the real world now -I
suddenly facing new challenges and
unfamiliar responsibilities. Even your
financial decisions are more
complicated, because now you must
begin to plan for the future.
But what's the first step? How can you maximize your
earnings without tying up all your funds? And which
financial services best fit the lifestyle you've chosen?
We can help you get started with this vital part of your new
life - today! At the University of Michigan Credit Union, we
have the answers to your financial questions - with a
variety of flexible options designed to meet your every need.
As a member of the University of Michigan Credit Union,
you'll also enjoy a quality of earnings and a level of service
you won't find anywhere else. And you share in every dollar
we make, because we're a non-profit financial cooperative.
Here are a few of the ways we help you build your future
when you share in the earnings:
Money Market Checking*
At most financial institutions, the funds in your checking
account are wasted. Your money earns no interest, and you
probably pay a tidy sum for the privilege of keeping it there.
At the University of Michigan Credit Union, however, we pay
you to keep your money with us - at Treasury Bill interest
rates (on balances greater than $1,000). That's more than
most savings accounts pay! And you also earn 2% on the
first $1,000 in your account!
Plus, there are no service fees as long as you participate in
our Direct Deposit program and maintain a checking
balance of just $200. But even for balances below $200, we
charge only what it costs to service your account - a
nominal fee of just $1.00 per month.
A credit union checking, or share draft, account is the first
step towards building your future - because your money
works for you, instead of the other way around.
*Also known as share draft accounts.

Fast Access Anytime
In the real world, sometimes you need access to your money
even after normal business hours. You might be asked to
work late on payday, for example. So we've made it easy for
you to conduct your business at your convenience.
Now you can make deposits, withdrawals and transfers 24
hours a day at automated teller machines througout
Washtenaw County. Just place your card in the CU24
machine, enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN)
and you're in buisness.
Not only does it virtually eliminate last-minute cash
shortages, but CU24 is a safe solution too - because you're
the only one who knows your Personal Identification
Number. So even if you lose your CU24 card, your money is
protected from unauthorized withdrawals.
And all you need to qualify for CU24 is a minimum balance
of $500 in your savingsaccount. Be sure to ask for your
CU24 application when you join the U-M Credit Union.

J Chances are you're already
familiar with VISA, the most
widely recognized credit card in the world. So you already
know that VISA can enhance your lifestyle better and faster
than almost any other financial tool.
But some VISA programs are better than others too -
namely, ours. As a non-profit financial cooperative, we try to
offer all our programs at the lowest possible cost to our
members.
So with a University of Michigan Credit Union VISA, you pay
only 16.44% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) interest on your
outstanding balance - and no annual fee.* (Other lenders
charge up to 21% APR interest, with fees as high as
$30 a year.)
That's especially important when you're just starting out -
because every dollar counts.
*There is an initial, one-time fee of $5.00 to cover the costs
of issuing your card. Interest accrues from the date your
transaction is posted to your account. Rates set by
Board of Directors.
