Michigan Union
Lyric Soprano Lynda Mohler will
perform in the Pendleton Room today
as part of the Music at Midday
program at the Michigan Union. Ms.
Mohler will present pieces by Strauss,
Barber, and Rossini. The concert
begins at 12:15 p.m. For more infor-

Blind Pig
Hip Linkchain's great blues band is
an experience in high-speed, kinetic
Chicago blues. Only now beginning to
gain recognition across the U.S., Hip
Linkchain's blues credentials are im-
peccable. While working as a side
man to Buddy Guy, Earl Hooker, and
others, Hip learned the new urban
blues style and managed to adapt his
own raw Mississippi-Delta guitar
playing to work well in his new en-
vironment.June3 and 4 at 9:30. Ad-

Theater
Common Ground Theatre
Hearing impaired and non-hearing
impaired performers are encouraged
to audition for the play, Children of a
Lesser God by Mark Medoff.
Auditions will be held on Sunday June
5 at 1 p.m. in the Kuenzel Room of the
Michigan Union, and Monday June 6
at 7:30 p.m. at the Canterbury Loft
(332 S. State). An American Sign
Language interpreter will be present
at both auditions and at callbacks.

Exhibits
Alice Simsar Gallery
An exhibition of New Editions from
Styria Studio opens on Saturday June
4 from 7 to 9 p.m. Nine artists are
displaying their work which includes
lithography, serigraphy, collage,
hand stamping and hand coloring. All
the works are recent publications
released by Styria Studio New York.
The work of the artists is included in
many public and private collections in
the United States and Europe and is
included in major museum collections
as well. The exhibition will continue
through July 7 and the gallery is open
Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5
p.m. (301 N. Main). Call 665-4883.

Clare Spitler Works of Art
The last one-person show for this
season will begin on Saturday June 4
with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m.
The special exhibit will be Drawings
and Paper Collages by Anne Mills
McCauley. McCauley's large
drawings contain abstract shapes in
layered pastels on a dark, mysterious
background. The public is invited to
visit the gallery on June 5 from 2 to 5
p.m. After that, it will be necessary to
call 662-8914 to learn the browsing
